Can't speak to the weird phallus metaphor, but otherwise, can definitely relate to the feeling of helplessness. Sometimes when I'm in the car alone, I scream as loud as I can. Not because I'm angry or anything, but just to remind myself I can be loud and make effective sounds, lol.
