I had a gasping stutter from 7-16 years old. The thought of being able to get out my words without gasping in muteness, was as bad as doing it. I had a educated professor on my paper route when I was 14. He avoided paying his bill , was a strange bird, but he gave a lot of advice. I was desperate, so I did what he said. It F'n worked. I took speech in high school and a sales job at a clothes shop. This way I had an agenda in what I was saying. Rote words without having to think. (think, reading out loud and looking at someone from time to time) I'd clasped my hands in front of me, with my thumb between my index and middle finger. The other thumb and index finger form a letter "C" . That's 3 points of contact. The two thumbs and index finger. This was my power. I gently squeezed my hands , to begin each word. Very soon you'll find that you only need one pump to start your words... I've been in Sales and Trade organizations for 45 years since then. I probably still do it at times, in uneasy situations. Just resting my thumb between those two fingers, and looking Thoughful .. I hope you'll try it. Let me know ...
