Nice job. I particularly like your line about “paths of difficulty.” It’s easy for any one of us who stutters to feel alone and lose sight of the fact that other people have other difficulties whether you see them or not. I believe every person has at least one thing they’d like to change about themselves, but can’t or struggle to. For some it’s an external challenge, like struggles with weight or body image, or, a stutter. These are things you can’t usually hide from others. Other people have internal challenges, things that cause them anguish but they can mostly keep secret and hide from others, like personal traumas. Regardless, everyone has their baggage, and it’s very important for none of us to lose sight of that. In my personal case, my stutter is what I feel to be my biggest “flaw.” Other than that I am happy and healthy and very fortunate to live the life I do. Many people have worse baggage, and everyone has some baggage. We are all just people who got stuck with a stutter, and that’s the way it is. If we can each manage to accept it and prevent it from not allowing us to live happy and fulfilled lives, then that’s for the best. TL;DR: any person on the street, and even your closest friend, has something they don’t particularly like about themselves, possibly as bad or worse than your stutter. Remember that.
