Do you understand your stutter and what is going on in your speech mechanism when you stutter? Do you understand the techniques and how to use them to make your speech smoother? If not, share that with your speech therapist and they should explain it clearly. If there is something that you feel doesn’t work for you, let them know. There are a lot of different things to try. It needs to be a collaboration with you and the SLP. You need to take ownership of your own speech. That being said, there is nothing wrong with stuttering either. It’s up to you whether you want to put in the work and effort to increase your fluency or whether you’re okay with your speech as it is.
