Pharma and medical companies are businesses, so a ‘cure’ needs a good business model to dedicate resources. There are far more profitable solutions for things like erectile dysfunction, heart disease, plastic surgery, etc. I have a friend with cystic fibrosis. In regards to single payer healthcare and the affordable care act, remember the sensationalism about government-run ‘death panels’ deciding who would live and die?
