Even among speech therapists, sooo many have zero real experience with stuttering, and finding therapists who have enough experience to be useful can be a challenge. Although Dean Williams wrote about it in the 50s, the field is *finally* starting to realize just how important it is to deal with the emotional baggage that comes with the disorder. So, short answer, is that yes, there’s more to therapy. Assuming you find a good therapist.
