There's a lot of great advice in this post. I'm nearing 30 and the only other thing I can add is that once you're out of high school, no one cares about stuttering. I block and stumble in front of my friends sometimes (mild/moderate stutter) and they just wait for me to finish. Just remember, you choose who is in your life, especially when you're out of high school and get older. I found a fantastic SO who sometimes orders for me when I want an enchilada. But my SO also pushes me sometimes to do things on my own. Life just kind of opens up the older you get and so you'll find that people don't have enough time or energy to focus on my stuttering. Of course, haters gonna hate but stutterers gonna stutter haha. I was the quiet kid too and in some ways I still am but I learned to not be ashamed like how I was in high school. It gets better, definitely.
