I’m really sorry to hear this. That’s EXTREME child abuse! My father was the same. Very abusive, physically and verbally, to all of us. I can’t help but feel that was a significant factor in me (and my brother) developing a speech impediment due to abuse during the very important formative years of our childhood. This negatively impacted my relationship with my dad up until he passed away last year at 91 y.o.
