I do appreciate your kind concern. I had a good life regardless of the cause of my lack of religious faith. If I weren’t an atheist I’d use the word ‘blessed’. Because both believers and non believers experience the same level of suffering and joy, ‘the rain falls on the righteous as well as the unrighteous’, I can’t attribute ‘blessings’ or suffering to a religious higher power. Even Karma doesn’t explain this disparityas truly good people suffer the same trials as the ‘evil’ ones. Poverty, abuse and disease, play no favorites. I do respect your worldview. If you experience joy, success and a good life as the result of a higher power I’m truly happy for you. For me, I attribute my happiness to fortunate chance. I do wish you joy regardless of the source.
