Initially it was just when I was going somewhere with that friend, but now I've started doing it everywhere I can. If I'm just asking for help at a shop I'll speak, but if I'm at at a restaurant or getting food at the cinema, I use the notepad. I do agree it's something I need to get out of; it's got a little out of hand since it just started out as a way to avoid my friend laughing.
