I can understand the fear. Where are you living at right now? If you're in the US or Canada then people tend to be very friendly and understanding in general. No one will make fun of you and if someone does they are not the norm. Just be yourself and you'll make friends, I know that's a scary idea when your stutter makes you so self conscious, but people won't care. I work in service and stutter whenever I get nervous or overwhelmed and no one has ever made fun of me for it. Believe in the kindness of fellow human beings, it exists. And anyone who is not kind will be the rare exception.
