I don't really care about the original cause of stuttering nowadays. I see stuttering as a bad habit, that we've learnt for some arbitrary reason. This is like stepping into a nail - you will limp long after the nail (and the pain) is gone, because you still have an irrational fear of hurting yourself. And childhood trauma also isn't an answer - most people experience some kind of trauma growing up and still don't stutter. I agree with your point about acceptance and it bothers me, when people just give up fluency without fighting and hard work, but nevertheless, I try to respect their life choices.
