The mindset is really simple actually, but takes a lot of time. You need to prove to yourself that these techniques have benefit and work long-term. I went through this path, so I do have lots of experience. I achieved a "worry-free" stutter, unnoticeable to the common listener. Anyway, you need a confidence "booster". A skill with a linear path of progression, where the results of your work is clearly visible. For me that was bodybuilding, for you it may be drawing, playing the piano or the violin. It doesn't matter. Something that doesn't involve talking at all. When you get good results there, you will realize ..... oh my stuttering improvement has the same property. It will give you hope that your short term pains are not pointless. This is what helped me. I would love to tell more on this topic. DM me freely!
