Breathing in nonstuttering population is automatic. However, with stuttering it changes its normal course. It happens as a result of internal struggle to “force out words”. Under normal conditions paying attention to breathing can help. In more stressful situations concentrating on breathing more likely doesn’t help due overwhelming stress. Sure, a person with yogi’s training may force himself to regain control, but for a person (even without logo neurosis) it is very challenging, to say the least. So, to conclude, we stutter not bc a lack of normal breathing but vice versa…
