I do not think either of you lack confidence; anyone can have problems communicating in load spaces, and it is reasonable to ask ones kin for advice. As someone who is overly triggerhappy; I just dont want to see you doing this for the wrong reasons. Personally I can do gestures and physical communication without noticing any stammer, and thats also the case when speaking (with stanmer) I can often gesture that describes or ease my flow. So as I said previously; I assume stammer only affect oral languages.
