Applying for disability

Applying for disability So I'm 22 and have never gotten past the interview process when trying to get a job. I really need to get out of my current living situation soon and was told by a speech therapist that applying for disability may be an option. What I'd like to know is if anyone here has gone through that and what should I expect? I live in Louisiana. Thanks. Edit: Included location
