I currently work in retail while attending college in order to get my teaching degree. Having a stutter in an environment with constant communication with strangers and co workers is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to overcome. Even though I’ve been at this grocery store for over 2 years I still struggle even with things as small as greeting customers,but I have improved immensely. My future plans of teaching high school make me nervous just thinking about it, but I want to teach for a reason and I don’t plan on letting my stutter get in the way of that.
