My stutter is really bad, and it can take me forever to say things or certain things I can't get out at all. But I'm more relaxed around my family so it's easier than talking to anyone else, plus my family knows me well enough that they usually have an idea what I'm trying to say. My dad (who used to stutter himself) grew up with a dad with a bad stutter, and my two very young brothers have mild stutters too. Stuttering is so normal around here that my family sometimes will swear they barely think about it. My sisters sometimes tease me (not in a mean way), but I'm the oldest so they usually respect me. I know not everyone has a family that's understanding or patient, and I know I'm pretty lucky. Sounds like OP likes her family a lot and seems like she has a fairly good relationship with them, so my guess is they'd be glad if she tried to talk to them more, but obviously I don't know the details of the situation. Edit: changed OP's pronouns
