***A piece of advice - It's best to see a psychiatrist, and discuss it with him. He should be able to provide you the information you need.*** Anyway, I've been seeing a psychologist lately(after seeing a psychiatrist - Just to be clear: specifically for stuttering), I am also looking to SSRIs prescribed soon. So, I don't have any experience myself(yet), but I've done some extensive research, so I can tell you about some example drug types - Any that is reported to have some kind of impact on stuttering, whether the underlying cause, or the direct cause(that can include medical trials/research/people's experience - most of it should be findable on the internet, although, like I've said, ask a professional). You can then ask a professional about them, or do some research yourself: \- Nootropics(For instance, piracetam, aniracetam, levetiracetam, etc.) \- Psychotropics(For instance, alprazolam, etc.) \- SSRIs(For instance, citalopram, etc.) \- Antipsychotics/Atypical Antipsychotics(Includes dopamine antagonists, etc.)(For instance, olanzapine, aripiprazole, asenapine, etc.) \- Anticonvulsants(For instance, gabapentin, etc.) \- Antidepressants(For instance, citalopram, etc.) \- Depressants(For instance, phenibut/F-phenibut, etc.) \- Anti-spasticity agents(muscle relaxants)(For instance, baclofen, etc.) And the greatest of all: Alcohol *Just kidding, I wouldn't consider it a solution, rather an interesting fact about it. It does help, that's for sure. It is a great example of how it doesn't affect stuttering directly, but it does affect other things, for ex. anxiety, which in turn, affects stuttering.* Other: Psylocybin, Vitamin E, Thiamine + Magnesium, \- Being investigated: Ecopipam. I'd say the drug is promising, seeing as it is a dopamine antagonist, and it has been shown that they do help. But well, we will have to wait. \- Failed: Pagoclone. Even though it has failed, it is important to note that, since anxiety may play an important role in stuttering, it may help. Just as other anxiety-reducing drugs. To sum it all up: These obviously do not include the side-effects of these drugs, some of which can be pretty strong, the potential for addiction of some. And most importantly: They can help, but it all depends on the underlying cause of your stuttering, etc. So, obviously, they can, but don't have to help you. **So, do some research, think about it, and see a professional. You should get the info, and perhaps even the prescription there.** I've probably forgotten about some, but most of them are here. I hope that's enough. Best of luck to you!
