We had a new guy applying for a professor position in our department once. He gave a trial lecture in front of staff and us grad students. He stuttered a bit. I had never seen anyone else around me stutter before. He gave a decent talk even if it was quite fact heavy and rushed. It motivated me to be fearless and get in front of people when I needed to give a talk. When I talk about my subject I say to myself I know the most about it in the entire room. That gives me more confidence :)
