I agree with you about everything. I understand why there are organizations geared towards connecting stutterers, I really do. At the same time, I can’t help but think there are more dire issues to be addressed. Notably, the lack of research that is being done on stuttering. Imagine if only a modicum of the funding that goes towards other disabilities was instead used for stuttering. I reckon out understanding of stuttering would broaden and we would discover ways to mitigate stuttering. The results of this kind of research could extent beyond just stuttering, like furthering our understanding of neuroscience and psychology.
