I thought about it for a long time and finally changed my legal name last year. Its been a liberating year since. I think the overall psychological impact of not stuttering when I introduce myself has improved my fluency. I know some might not welcome the idea of changing their name. I had my old name for almost 30 years and I thought the rest of my life could be a bit better if I let that name go, and adopted a name I could actually say.
