yeah, i would suggest stopping the tapping thing. it is a trick your conditioning and will be hard to uncondition later. Blocking is not stuttering. You block because you are afraid to stutter and dont want to show it. The only way to get past it is to try to phonate to get some sound in to the sound your blocking on (oftentimes it's the vowel after the consonant thats making you block). Obviously much easier said than done. This is where a good speech pathologist can help. But if she starts giving you techniques, I'd be wary. tldr: the way to get over blocks is to stutter on the blocked sounds.
