I block too, and that happens to me as well. Sometimes if I block on my name they’ll ask if I forgot it. If I’m not going to talk to them again after that I’ll just brush it off but if it’s someone I’m gonna see again I’ll do just what you said and say something like ‘no i just have a stutter’.
