I can really relate to your post, I am having similar problems communicating with my family in their native German because of my stutter. There may be another reason we are struggling, I have done some research, and I learned there is a phenomenon unique to German, Polish, and other Slavic languages that requires the speaker to make complete air pauses in between words and sounds. I believe that this is especially difficult for stutterers. If I ever see a speech therapist again, I would really like to bring this up with them.
