I would encourage you to listen to podcasts #255 and #598 on stuttertalk. They are on doctors who have a stutter and how they made it through medical school. Also, check out the National Stuttering Foundation’s article titled “Don’t let your stutter keep you out of med school”. You may find that inspirational. There are a number of people in this group who are going to law school, are doctors, etc. They’ve intentionally chose careers requiring them to speak. There are MANY medical schools that would accept you as a student. You’re not the first person with a stutter to go want to go to medical school. I know it’s difficult, and I can understand because I also stutter. We must be confident and refuse to let it run our lives. It’s okay to feel discouraged, but we have to keep moving forward as much as we can. You can do anything you set your mind to.
