It’s kinda crazy, but I don’t stutter on my name anymore. My name starts with H, and I used to go “hhhhhhhhhh” at the start, which was really frustrating. One thing that helped me is realizing that when you start to stutter, you shouldn’t try to push through if it’s gonna leave you out of breath - so I just stop, ease the tension, and then try again. That’s important because usually when you stutter, you kind of shrivel and tense up, and that tends to make people stutter even more. For me, I think it was mostly about worrying about my stutter, because if you’re scared you’re gonna stutter, you usually end up actually stuttering. I get that it might be tough to accept your stutter, but it’ll really help you out.
