Disagree. When talking about negative portrayals, OP specifically mentions people who are portrayed as "un-assertive, or generally anxious as a result of their stutter." George VI is portrayed as extremely anxious as a result of his stutter, and the entire film is about how he needs to overcome it. There's no suggestion at any point that his voice is fine the way it is, and other people were incorrect to have a problem with it. I found the movie *extremely* demoralising when I was little. I didn't like the idea that stutterers should have to change the way they spoke. I *liked* (and like!) my voice, and I don't want to sound differently. It was miserable to finally see a character who was like me, only for them to "cure" him in the end. It's one of my most hated films because of that. YMMV, of course.
