You don't know that your fluency will always be this bad. It may be what you believe, but that doesn't make it true Since you didn't specify speech therapy I'm going to assume that you're meeting with a psychologist and not an SLP. Maybe the therapist can disabuse you of some other faulty beliefs? Go into therapy with an open mind. Think about who you were 5 years ago compared to who you are today. And everything you've learned in that time. Or things you may have unlearned in that time. Then think about how different the person you are today will be from you in another 5 years. We all have struggles. Many of us in the stuttering community feel isolation, and as such, we often feel that we have to go it alone. There is strength in numbers. Being part of a team allows you to accomplish more. Your therapist is bringing education, experience, and expertise to help you with your needs. Embrace the opportunity.
