I made peace with my stutter when I realized that speech therapy wasn’t working about 6 years ago. It’s strange, when you have a flaw, you try to reject it. You deny it, hide it, and just refuse to accept. Which ultimately makes it worse. But when you accept it and make peace with it, it becomes a fundamental part of who you are. If it were to go away, you’d crumble because you don’t know how to live without it. That’s why even though I sometimes hate my stutter, if you made a machine to cure it, you couldn’t pay me to use it. So I’ve made my peace with my stutter. And now I really want to help others find that same peace.
