I'm a singer and I used to have a very severe stuttrer. I've tried fully singing through my words in convos before when I really needed to (exam situations etc.) but I've never stuck with it because in some situations you just want to have a normal conversation without having to sing. Nowadays, I have a lot more techniques to go around any block I encounter, so I never have to stutter in any situation. One that I like is linking my words – it feels like singing, but there's no melody (aside from the normal melody that speech has). In addition, I try to focus on inserting stops and not letting me get influenced by other people's rate of speech.
