As far as we know, it can be the cause and effect, but it has never been researched in studies specifically that it's the cause. The answer is, we just don't know if it's the cause or effect yet so it's a big assumption you are throwing in a discussion unless you can link any research that states this? Also, one person could benefit from ocd treatment (like me it helped 95% fluency), while for other people another approach works better. Everyone is susceptible to other things because we have different fears and mentalities, people don't all think in the same way.
