It’s part of the AHSA standards for a program to be certified to have a course in fluency. It’s a little general/vague with the frame work of needing “knowledge of the principles and methods of prevention, assessment, and intervention”. I’m sure some programs are better than others based solely on the professors experience and view. And again older people in the profession did not have this requirement. My point being that there are tons of poorly informed speech therapists in the world, but there is also an increasing number of them that have solid training :) so switching therapists could possibly help
