This is kinda what I did this year, with so much success it's unbelievable. Caveat, I have a mild stutter. For the breathing thing in particular, if I feel like I am going to stutter, I just plan out my words and then make shorter sentences, the run on sentences a tend to get me, if you make shorter sentences and breath in between sentences it really helps. It may sound a bit weird idk, but its better than getting into a block or hyperventilating. Like tonight was at the library. Instead of "hello, can you tell me where the books on bonsai are, none of the catalogue computers seem to be working for me." I said: "Hello" Breathe "Can you" Breathe "Tell me where the" breathe "Uh Books on bonsai are?" breathe. "The catalogue computers" Breathe "Seems to be down" breathe. It really helps especially if the library is 5 minutes from closing. The breaths should be short and relaxed not super deep or super shallow. I have found that the more positive experiences I have, the less I worry about negative ones and the less I stutter. Hope this helps.
