Woke up today and said F*** IT I’ll stutter on purpose in front of everyone Today’s exercise was the easiest i had to stutter as much as i can 😃 So I am currently doing ubereats because i am someone with a severe stutter i average 25 deliveries a day so i have 50 talking situations everyday meeting 25 restaurant staff and another 25 customers. At the restaurants i have to say the name or the order number but i used to show them the phone screen to avoid speaking and when i go to the customer’s house i used to leave the order and go quickly before they open the door. Today i decided to do the opposite. I block on nearly 95% of the words in public today I decided to intentionally do it on purpose and start doing my secondary stuttering behaviours like (tensing my face, closing my eyes, fingers tapping.. etc) intentionally and on purpose and in front of everyone even though some stores were full of people but I didn’t care. Being perceived as person who stutters was my ultimate fear it was adding half of the stress on me while talking with people But from today I don’t care. Stuttering is not illegal this who i am, someone with a neurological problem and it isn’t my fault and i have the right to speak no matter how long it takes The whole speech related anxiety that i had everyday while i am working were lifted off my shoulders today Everyone was kind and even if someone from 1000 was mean or rude or even laughed at me I don’t care. No one is gonna physically harm you because of your stutter just stutter who cares
