The Pained Expression

The Pained Expression I've been stuttering for as long as I can remember. With age and years of speech therapy my stutter has gone from severe to occasional and mild (I have days without stuttering and really hard days where it comes back). Often when I stutter the person I'm talking to and the people around them will have a pained expression on their face. When I see that I feel terrible (I feel like I'm bothering them by talking or that they think I'm stupid) then my anxiety and stuttering goes through the roof. When I'm talking to people who know that I stutter, their face is sometimes preemptively in a pained expression (it is like they're waiting for me to mess up). Is there a way to get used to the uncomfortable looks on people's faces? It always seems to take my stutter from mild to severe.
