Could say what I do now but I’ll list jobs/volunteer opportunities I’ve done in the past: -podcast host -karaoke host -stage manager -community theater director -nanny -toy store manager I stutter when I have to say certain things so I chose to try things that leaned on my language strengths (impromptu convo, singing, talking to children) that allowed me to keep working on the weaknesses. I learned ways to ease into difficult words/phrases and develop a style that covers most of my stutter. Starting a new job is always difficult. Been at my current workplace for three years (walmart). W’s are hard so answering the phone or talking over the PA isn’t my fav. Had to call for “all associates” over the walkie talkie many times. That became “all available folks” until I built up steam at the end. Another one was “liquor room.” It started as “alcohol closet.” ‘Cause God knows that a stutterer didn’t choose both Ls and Rs to go together! That’s just unfair!
