I’m 24 and am still kinda shy at first but when I get talking that helps pull me out of my shell, I’m a people person so I like meeting new people. It helps to try and be outgoing and push yourself in certain situations, my fiance orders for me at restaurants and stuff most of the time honestly but when my stutter is really bad I try to order for myself to try and build my confidence more, it doesn’t work every time and I’ll get frustrated sometime so I give her a look or a nod or whatever and takes that cue to take over for me. But as long as you’re pushing yourself to make those friends or get those girls you’ll get better. It sucks a lot of the time I won’t lie, there’s times I want to punch a person and just yell at them but have to tell myself there’s always gonna be those people and not let it get to me. Don’t let your stutter hold you back, put yourself out there, when you meet someone new let them know you have a stutter “hello my name is blank, I have a stutter so I might take a little longer to say some things here and there.” Most people will be fine with your stutter. And never apologize for your stutter, something my speech therapist told me when in high school was “never apologize for your stutter, you can’t help it.” (And I know this is kinda all over the place so I’m sorry)
