Identity can work like that, sure. :) Even if you suddenly lost your stutter tomorrow, there'd still be all that history with it, up to that point. So it'll still be part of you in that sense. But we're not really defined by anything in such a singular fashion. It's more a tendency in the way we perceive ourselves.
