I joined a smaller frat at my school pretty much on accident and it ended up probably being one of the best things I've ever done for improving my social skills and just my general confidence and honestly quality of life. It's been an awesome experience. But considering you don't like your current college and are thinking about transferring out anyway? There might not be much of a point in your case.
