From the sounds of it, you've not worked with anyone at the top of their field. As I suggested, ask your speech therapist for referrals for a private practice SLP who specializes in stuttering. You can also reach out to local universities. Find one that has an SLP program. The psych department at any university should be able to direct you to a university with an SLP program. My speech therapist was the chair at University of Michigan. They were published and a leader in the field. THAT is the type of resource you should be seeking. You might luck out and find a university that will take you on as a patient of their school program. Where you'd work with university students under the supervision of their professors. There are resources out there. But when we're young, we often don't know where to look or what to look for.
