Stuttering will definitely hold you back in life. Stuttering is a neurological problem where the brain and your speech are not in sync. Stuttering often begins with a traumatic event but that event does not cause the stuttering. The stuttering usually begins between the ages of 4 to 8 so you probably would have begun to stutter about the time of the traumatic event. Standard stuttering therapy often does not help and often is harmful. Have you looked at stuttering devices such as the Edinburgh Masker and Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF)?
