I recently discovered why I had blocked almost my entire life. Stutterer since age 6. Been stuttering for about 26 years now. I recently found out that my blocks were 100% due to me resisting my authentic stutter. Almost a week ago, I decided to 100% stop fighting my stutter, and to allow myself to stutter without ANY resistance to it. I was absolutely scared to do this (because I was resisting my stutter my whole life), but once I did, I noticed something: my blocks completely didn't happen. I then realized, the blocking (with me) happens purely because I was fighting my stutter. I was resisting my natural authentic unfiltered stutter. I was resisting going: "st-st-st-st-st-st-st-st-st-st-st-stutter" and instead going "\*silent & blocking\*" trying to force the whole thing, resulting in the classic block. I absolutely HATE repeating/looping, which was (for me) the reason why I blocked all my life. Always trying to hide the repeats/loops. Hope this helps. I'm also just discovering as I go along this path.
