I'm in my thirties now. When I was in my early twenties I tried speech therapy. I found it quite weird. I found my speech would improve for a day or two after a session then get way worse after that. My stutter is alot better now because I'm better at managing my anxiety and I'm alot less worried about what other people think of me now as apposed to when I was younger. When I noticed my stutter is worse then usual now, I just take 10 minutes every day to sit by myself and kind of meditate. Just breath slowly and try to relax. It's not an instant fix. It's an accumulative affect over a few days but it does work. And I don't avoid hard things like drive throughs or phone calls so they cause me less anxiety. From the other replies here. It seems like it's different for everyone so maybe try it or try a couple of different therapists if one doesn't work for you.
