“Wow your stutter is getting better”

“Wow your stutter is getting better” How do you feel when people around you say something like “wow your stutter is getting better” or “I could barely tell that you stutter”? I know that they mean it as something positive but I feel that it’s not. My stutter goes up and down but it’s not going to disappear forever, no matter how hard I want it to. I still have anxiety any time I have to speak in class or order something at a coffee shop. Maybe I stutter less today, but it’s still there and you saying wow it’s getting better doesn’t help because it won’t disappear, it will probably get worse in a week again. The goal shouldn’t be fluent speech, it should be accepting me and listening, regardless if I stutter or not. Idk what this was and if it’s only me that hate that phrase, but how do you feel about it?
