Hm, I wouldn't count on the prayers helping reduce the stutter itself, speech therapy seems like the better choice here. But if you're religious, your faith can maybe help you cope with it, shine a different light on it. Just like this subreddit. Personally, I don't think that the stuttering itself if the problem, rather our societies way of dealing with it. If we could be sure that everyone will react cool and relaxed when someone stutters, it wouldn't cause any anxiety, right? Now, of course we can never be sure that we won't run into some ignorant, rude person, but what we can influence is how we treat ourselves after having made a bad experience. If you keep beating yourself up and overthinking the situation, it won't help you. Think of it like this: Why could God have made you with a stutter? What is it that you might gain by learning to live with it and overcoming your fear? Could it maybe even be seen a gift, something that makes you unique? Like I said, we all have our insecurities and we all need to learn how to befriend them. In the right light, they're not so scary. :)
