AMA with Ryan Gielen, producer and director of the new documentary My Beautiful Stutter is scheduled for 04/26/2021 10am-12pm Central - NEED QUESTIONS Hello everyone, We are pleased to announce that there is will be a **LIVE AMA** with Ryan Gielen, producer and director of the new documentary My Beautiful Stutter. We are going to start by having a STACKED AMA where he can either answer questions from **THIS** thread or answer questions posted in the LIVE AMA post. Please post any questions you have **here** and then tune in next week to participate in the AMA. Ryan is the producer and director of the new documentary My Beautiful Stutter from executive producers Paul Rudd & Mariska Hargitay, streaming exclusively on Discovery Plus in the United States, and available now on Vimeo On Demand throughout the rest of the world. He is also the executive producer of the short film *sometimes, i think about dying* which was honored as an official Sundance Short, and short-listed for the 2020 Academy Awards. Ryan & his company Believe Limited were recently nominated for a Norman Lear Imagen Award for positive representations of latinos in entertainment. Description: My Beautiful Stutter follows five kids who stutter, ages 9 to 18, from all over the United States and all walks of life, who, after experiencing a lifetime of bullying, stigmatization, and trauma meet other children who stutter at an interactive arts-based program, The Stuttering Association for the Young, based in New York City. Their journey to SAY find some close to suicide, others withdrawn and fearful, exhausted and defeated from failed fluency training, societal pressures to not stutter or the decision to remain silent. Over the course of a year we witness first hand the incredible transformation that happens when these young people of wildly different backgrounds experience for the first time the revolutionary idea at the heart of SAY: that it's okay to stutter.
