I had cs job i really wanted end up going with someone else.  I thought it would be so convenient and ideal, ended up being one of the best things that ever happened to me. Same with a leadership program passing on me.  Ironically a year later another person reached out to me wanting me in the leadership program because someone else bailed.   You never know what tomorrow will bring.
