Same thing happens with me it's like my throat lock up when I am trying to say something. It only happens when I am introducing myself and on phone calls or in a public transport. I think it happens because we stutters use a trick when we block on a word and then we use the words synonym and then we can say it without hesitation. I believe that the more we use it the more severe the blocks become. That's what I think anyways.
