IMO it's fairly normal and maybe necessary to numb out some negative feelings about your stuttering (to a certain point of course). Can't get worked up every time it happens. Also, your personality could be reasonably approximated as the sum of your actions, and you have control over that! So if you want to limit the extent to which stuttering affects your personality and have a clear picture of what the "stutter-free" you would do, just try to act a little bit more like that. In other words try not to let stuttering make the decisions.
